1 Day Skopje Tour

Detailed itenerary of the tour:

09:00 Start of tour

The meeting place is the Museum of the city of Skopje, where you will get all the information you need about the day that lays ahead. As the main city centre is just a short walk away, the tour will guide you through the famous pedestrian street Macedonia Street which is also where the Memorial House of Mother Theresa is located.

City Centre - Macedonia Square

The tour will continue towards Macedonia square which is guaranteed to impress with its breathtaking fountain, numerous cafes and monuments. Macedonia Square is the beating heart of Skopje. The guides will continue the tour to the Old Bazaar but as you make your way on the other side of Vardar River you will find yourself on one of the oldest bridges in the Balkans and a symbol of Skopje for centuries - Stone Bridge.

Old Bazaar

The Old Bazaar is one of the most impressive areas in Skopje. It has been a place for entertainment, shopping and trade since early 1300's. Here you can actually feel the mix of cultures, history and tradition as you make your way on the old stone road. It is the perfect location for lunch at one of the authentic restaurants.

Old Town

The tour will continue with a walk around the old town and a visit of the fortress Kale which to this day stands as a guardian of the city.

Matka Canyon

For the last part of the tour we will make our way to the natural gem that is Matka Canyon, only 20 minutes away from Skopje. The Canyon is filled with natural beauty, breathtaking sloping hills, challenging hiking trails and several important monasteries that date back to the 13th century.

The Canyon features cave Vrelo which could become the deepest one in Europe as until now its underwater part has been explored 300m deep, no one knows how deep it goes.
