Mavrovo National Park

Today Mavrovo National Park is among the region's largest reserves of this kind. With its landscapes, lakes and forests Mavrovo national Park is one of the most beautiful areas in Macedonia. This masterpiece of nature is located in the sharplaninska group of mountains and encompass its southern branches, Korab massif of Mount Bistra and the adjacent watershed of the river Radika (an area of 73,088 ha). The national park is also host to the largest peak in the country, Golem Korab which stands tall at 2,764 meters above sea level. The national park offers an astonishing array of both fun and challenging activies, whether you decide to do a picnic on one of its meadows or take on its steep hills and do some climbing, mountain biking or hiking.
