The Bank was established in April 1993, among the first private banks in the country under the name Kreditna Banka AD Skopje.
In January 2000, Alpha Bank A.E., Athens acquired the majority stake in the Bank and became the main shareholder, while in 2002, it acquired the remaining stake and became the sole shareholder, accounting for 100% of its share capital. The same year the Bank changed its name from Kreditna Banka AD Skopje into Alpha Bank AD Skopje.
From its establishment, Alpha Bank AD Skopje distinguishes itself from the other banks in the country by following the criteria of private banking. The modern banking principles offered through swift and high quality services to its customers are a continuous process, lasting to present days.
