We will start from the upper town, or “Ano Poli”, where you can admire the impressive Byzantine walls that once protected the city from invaders. Then, we will visit the Paleochristian church of Saint Demetrios, the patron saint of the city, and its catacombs. Next, we will head to the city center, where you can see the Roman legacy in the Monument of Rotunda and the Arch of Galerius. We will end our tour by the sea, with the iconic White Tower and the statue of Alexander, the Great King of Macedonia. Along the way, we will pass by Kapani Local Market, the oldest public market of Thessaloniki, where you can taste some of the fresh ingredients of the local cuisine.
