Discover Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, on this full-day trip from Sofia. During this day tour to Skopje, you will have the chance to explore the city's highlights and hear its rich history and culture from your guide.  Be picked up from your accommodation or address in the center of Sofia and board an air-conditioned vehicle. During the trip to Skopje, you can ask your guide any questions and make this 4-hour drive valuable. Once in Skopje, your 2-hour walking tour will begin. Admire sweeping views of the city from the fortress before heading to the Church of the Holy Savior, home to a fantastic iconostasis. Continue towards the Sultan Murat Mosque and the Old Bazaar, where you can witness the remnants from the Ottoman Period.  Listen as your guide tells you about Skopje's history as one of the main trade centers in the Balkans. Crossing a bridge will take you to the modern part of Skopje's center. We will visit the new neo-classical square with the huge statue of Alexander the Great, and continue to the Mother Teresa memorial house. End your walking tour at the newly built triumphal arch, Porta Macedonia. After the tour, you will have 2 hours of free time to enjoy a nice Macedonian lunch and continue your exploration of this remarkable city. After that, you will meet your Bulgarian guide again for the journey back to Sofia. On the way back, you can continue the discussion and ask all your questions regarding the things you have heard. You will be dropped in the center of Sofia.
